Roof and Gutter De-Icing

THE PROBLEM
Ice dams can form dangerous icicles and cause water ingress into buildings. The ice dams form because melting snow and ice on a roof freeze when they reach the cold roof edge. The ice forms a barrier and melted water accumulates behind this ice dam. Pooled water behind the dam may leak into the building, causing water damage, or climb over the ice-filled gutter, forming icicles.
THE SOLUTION
Raychem systems provide a continuous drain path for melted ice and snow from the roof through the gutter and downspout. Versatile, reliable, energy-saving, and cost-effective, these systems are the effective answer for roof and gutter de-icing applications. Raychem roof and gutter de-icing systems offer a better way to help prevent the formation of ice dams and icicle on facilities such as office buildings, warehouses, storage facilities and production buildings.
IceStop System
This system provides a continuous path for roof snow melt to drain from the roof through the gutter and downspout. This heat trace cable system is ideal for installation on:

- Roofs made from standard roofing materials including shake, shingle, rubber, tar, wood, metal and plastic
- Gutters made from standard materials including metal and plastic
- Downspouts made from standard materials including metal and plastic
The IceStop System prevents the following:
• Interior Structural Damage - Ice dams on roof edges lead to water ingress.
• Exterior Damage to Gutters - Frozen gutters are heavy, leading to distortion or breakage.
• Falling Icicles - Icicles pose a threat and a liability to people and property.
• Slippery Walkways - Overfilled gutters allow water to fall on the ground and refreeze.
